I don’t know about you, but I love switching up my perfumes and smelling like something different everyday. Although, on most days I just forget, whoops! However, my favorite scents are citrusy, fruity, light and refreshing. This makes it a bit difficult during the fall/winter times when everyone’s layering on the heavier, woody smells.
I have 3 perfumes that I’ve been loving for this time of the year. So if you aren’t into those darker sensual perfumes but want something more appropriate for fall, then read on!
For each of the perfumes, I will share the main notes as well as a silly imagery that it conjures up for me. Since scents are so hard to describe, I thought I’d try to share what the scent makes me think of.
CLEAN White Woods
Notes: Bergamot Leaves, Mandarin, Vanilla Orchid,
What it smells like to me:Β A big joyous family dinner with tons of food and laughter while the leaves are falling outside and the fireplace is roaring next to the table.
I wrote this description before searching up the perfume online and I feel like I’m pretty bang on. The style according to Sephora is: warm, comforting, sensual. It’s a pretty woody smell but the scent is lighter than most other so I don’t feel overwhelmed by musk.

The Body Shop Madagascan Vanilla Flower
Notes: Amber, Vanilla, Frangipani
What it smells like to me: I’m in a shop filled with candy and delicious baked goods. I buy it all and eat it while watching a sunset.
I’ve never been a fan of sweet scents but this one is really enjoyable. It starts off more light and citrusy and as it dries it becomes more sweet. The perfume was inspired by tropic islands and is a nice escape from the rainy weather.
What’s also cool is that it contains Community Fair Trade organic alcohol made from sugar canes. You can learn more about it here. It’s a bit fluffed up due to marketing but it’s still a really neat thing that the Body Shop is doing.

A Frangipani!
