2016 Empties

Welcome to my 2016 empties! Grab a cup of tea as it’s going to be a long one!

A couple of these makeup items are from my last Project Pan and I kept it around to use a few more times before tossing! The other items are makeup products that just did not work for me and it’s time to clear it out.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer– 🙂 Part of my project pan and really love this as a contour but it’s over 4 years old now so tossing it out!

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb– 🙂 Another item from my project pan. Love the color but the packaging is start to rub off and leave little rubber bits around. I’ve finished 80% of this product.

Bareminerals Ready Blush in The One- :/ The last item from my project pan, the color was just okay.

Maybelline Babylips – 🙁 I’m not sure everyone’s obsession with babylips, I don’t like the scent of this at all!

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner– 🙁 I reviewed this a while back but I wanted to give it a second chance. But it is sooo creamy that it does not stay on and I end up with raccoon eyes!

Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer- 🙁 This made my lashes feel crunchy and since it’s white, it always peeks through my mascara.

Stila Cover up Stick– :/ I just didn’t get the right shade and this is around 6 years old!

L’Occitane Ultra Rich Lip Balm– 🙁 This DRIED OUT my lips so bad! I was constantly reapplying because my lips were dry but I realized it was this lipbalm that was making it dry!

I have sheet masks from THEFACESHOP (Green Tea and the Rudolph Character Mask) and My Beauty Diary. All three were pretty good but mostly just relaxation with no differences in the skin. :/

THEFACESHOP Mango Seed Cleansing Foam and Heart Volume Butter 🙂 – I enjoyed both, the foam didn’t dry out my skin and the lotion was nice and hydrating.

The Garnier Clean Makeup Wipes were just okay :/ but the Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths are my current favorite :). It’s so moist and the smaller packaging makes it so convenient to bring around.

LUSH Don’t Look at Me – 🙂 This is my first LUSH fresh face mask and this knocked it out of the park! It did go bad pretty fast but it left my skin the next day looking so smooth! Also this little tub lasted me at least 10 uses!

I love David’s Tea and all of it’s unique flavors. I stocked up during it’s Boxing Day Sale so I have some new teas to share.

Cranberry Orange Muffin– 🙂 This is an herbal infusion with cranberries as the first ingredient!

Buddha’s Blend– 🙂 Stronger than I expected but a wonderful white and green tea blend.

Buchu Superfruit– :/ I thought I would love this but I think it was a bit too sweet and fruity.

Green Passionfruit– 🙂 Light fruity green tea, my favorite type! I love the little tin too.

A couple more items that I used up including cotton pads, floss and a THEFAESHOP Oil-Drop Anti-Aging Serum which I quite enjoyed. I LOVE the smell of the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter, I thought it would be nutty but it’s very fruity!

I threw away a heal salve as I didn’t find any uses for it as well as some Impress nails. I do usually like these press on nails but this design was a purple/green duochrome that just didn’t look appealing

La Roche Posay Corrective Concentrate– :/ I wanted to lighten some of my dark spots and sometimes I feel like this is starting to work but I think I wasn’t using it regularly enough to notice.

Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt- 🙁 I reviewed it earlier last year and this has a great texture and scent but it stings my eyes when I try to get mascara/eyeliner off.

Burt’s Bees Lipbalm– 🙂 Gone through many of these, my holy grail lip balm.

Soap & Glory Hand Food– :/ I’ve heard so many great things about this brand that I was a little bit disappointed. The scent was artificially sweet and found it a bit greasy.

NYC Big Bold Angel Lash – 🙂 I really enjoy this mascara! Nice light weight mascara that doesn’t get crunchy, see review.

DHC Double Protection Mascara- 🙁 At first I really liked it as it separates lashes amazingly and it’s small wand is versatile. However when removing this, it is so difficult and has a consistency similar to lash glue!

Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara– :/ Standard mascara that does it’s job but nothing too exciting. See review.

NYC Smokin Hot Showtime Volume Mascara– 🙁 Nope, doesn’t do anything.

Stila Huge Extreme Mascara– 🙂 This gave me such big lashes but I think it’s getting old as it’s starting to flake now. See review.

It’s my favorite time again, rounding up my empties! Here’s the second empties post of 2016!

Makeup

Lioele Waterdrop BB Cream 🙂– I’ve had this for 2.5 years now and glad to be done it. This was a wonderful light weight foundation with SPF.

Quo Lipgloss 🙂– A very pretty coral color and the formula was decent. This was from their holiday collection.

Fresh Sugar Ruby 🙂– I love fresh lip products and this is no exception. The color was surprisingly vibrant and very softening and delicious.

Softlips Luxe in Shea Butter :)- My boyfriend actually used this up for me, but I enjoyed it as well.

Essie in Turquoise & Caicos 🙂– This was my go to summer nail color but now it’s gotten gloopy. I finished about half of the bottle!

Gosh Xtreme Mascara :)- Solid mascara with length, volume, and separation.

Skin and Body

Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion :/– Smells very natural and was easy to absorb. Nothing special though.

Bioderma Hydrobio Serum and Cream :):):)– OMG this is my holy grail! I’ve done a review for this before and was one of my 2015 favorites. I have dry skin and this helps to give so much hydration and keep the flakes at bay. You NEED to try this if you have very dry skin.

Anna Sui Secret Wish Perfume 🙂– I love this scent, light fruity and refreshing. However, towards the end it ended up smelling like a wet dog on my skin, has this ever happened to you?

Lancome Comforting Milky Creme Cleanser :/– Average foaming cleanser.

Skin and Body 2

THEFACESHOP Honey Face Mask :/– It was relaxing to use but didn’t have any effect

7th Heaven Passion Peel Off 🙁– This was a disaster! It never dried, and it took me 20+ mins to wash it off. And it didn’t do anything for my skin. It did smell good though

Burt’s Bees Cleansing Cloths 🙁– Not my favorite, the formula is a bit harsh and not a fan of the smell (too much lemon)

Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths 🙂– Still my favorite! Takes off makeup very easily!

Evian Facial Spray 🙂– I find this so refreshing but the nozzle plugged 🙁

I also have a hand lotion 🙂 that my friend bought from Korea and a nail polish remover 🙁 that did absolutely nothing. The remover is 3 years expired though so maybe that’s my fault.

David’s Tea

Rooibos de Provence :/- quite floral, lots of blueberry flavor

Honeycrisp Apple :/– it was nice but the apple flavor was a bit strong

Genmaicha 🙂– I rarely get straight tea from David’s Tea as I love to try their blends but I enjoyed this one very much.

Cherry Blossom :)- It was light and delicate

Pom Springs 🙁– Flavor was too strong and artifical

Toss

Bioderma Sensibio – This is suppose to expire in 2017 but it smelled OFF ever since I got it.

Laura Mercier Pressed Powder– I loved this so much but it smells bad now! Also this is why I’m obsessed with decluttering now as this product sat in my drawers even though it’s so good. I never used it and now I have to throw it away!

One Direction Lipstick– This was just meh

Glad to be getting all this stuff done with! I’m still working on my Pan that Palette and hope to finish more makeup items soon. Link me with your empties!

It’s been quite a few months since I did an empties post and my progress has slowed down! There’s been way too much new makeup and I can’t seem to stay focused! But either way, here are some of the recent beauty items I’ve used up.

I decided to make it even shorter in terms of text as people probably don’t read it anyways. I will list out all the items but if I don’t have any further comments, the product was just okay.

-Pantene Sheer Volume Shampoo & Conditioner
-BBW Paris Amour 🙁 Not going to be buying more from Bath and Body Works in the future as it’s so strongly fragranced
-BBW Pink Passion Fruit Hand Sanitizer
-Saje Liquid Sunshine 🙂– I love this stuff!! It’s the first diffuser blend that I’ve used up and I think I need to repurchase!

-Lush Snowman Shower Jelly 🙂 This smelled amazing and was so fun to use in the shower. Plus it lasted forever!
-Lush Cranberry Festive Face Mask
-DHC Olive Body Butter 🙁 I liked the smell of this body butter a lot and it melt on your skin. But I realized the more I use it, it is actually quite greasy.

-L’Occitane Gentle Toner
-For My Kids All Natural Hand Wash
-L’Occitane Rebalancing Shower Gel 🙂 I really enjoyed the scent of this. It was very relaxing and the olive and lemon bits as exfoliant was great!
-Soap & Glory Hand Food in Sugar Crush 🙂 Very nice refreshing scent!

-Bliss That’s incredi-peel– I need to use more to see results I think
-Watson’s Double HA Intense Moisturising Facial Mask 🙂 My face felt nice and plump the next day
-TFS Avocado Face Mask
-Cetaphil Makeup Wipes 🙂 My favorite
-ELF MakeupWipes 🙂 My second favorite

So that’s all for this time around. I need to step up my game and use up more products especially makeup.

It’s been so long since I’ve done an empties post! I have a ton of goodies to show today. I can’t believe there’s only 2 more months in 2016. Where does the time go?? I’ll be working extra hard on finishing up some more product before the year is up. But let’s get on to what I’ve been collecting for the past 3 months.

MAKEUP

-Revlon Mascaras :/ I did a full review post on these earlier this year. I like the red and pink mascara the best. The red I finished up is in blackened brown so I can’t wait to use the same in blackest black which will produce even better results!

-Joe Fresh Lash Focus Mascara 🙂 I love this one so much! It creates the biggest lashes and really
opens up my eyes.

-The Body Shop Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer 🙁 This is an orange colored cream but once blended out it really doesn’t do much.

-Softlips Luxe :/ Nice lip balm but a bit too heavily coconut scented for me. My boyfriend finished this.

-Skoah Lip Love :/ A clear lip balm that was okay. My boyfriend finished this too. He’s doing a good job cracking down my lip balm collection haha.

-Smashbox Photo Finish Shadow Primer :/ I got this in a Sephora kit about 1.5 years ago. It’s great for making shadows last longer and pop but the applicator makes it so difficult to squeeze out the right amount of product. It feels very thick and a ton of product would come out.

-Smashbox Eyeliner in Onyx :/ I’ve been using this for 3 years! It’s a good liner but nothing too crazy. It’s more of a gritty formula so it stays for a long time but requires a bit tugging.

-Formula X Base Coat 🙂 I also got this in the same Sephora kit 1.5 years ago. I really enjoy this and this helps to improve the longevity of my nails. I used a good chunk of this before it went gloopy.

SKIN & BODY

-OGX Thick & Fall Shampoo & Conditioner 🙂 I loved this set. The smell is addictive, very luxurious. It keeps my hair clean and moisturized.

-Dermaquest Hydrating Serum :/ This was a nice lightweight serum and provides additional moisture. It was good but nothing special. You can get it from Lift.

-The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel 🙂 Pretty standard shower gel but the smell is AMAZING

-Thefaceshop Seaweeds Moisurizing Pack :/ Was a nice lightweight water pack but nothing too special. I’ve had this for less than a year so I’m super excited to use something up early for once!

-Thefaceshop Mini Pet Floral 🙂 How cute is this hand cream?! Nothing special with the cream but the packaging is so cute and would be great for the office desk.

OTHERS

I really enjoyed the Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths and am sad this is the last pack I have. The Almay ones were not that great. I also discovered two new teas from David’s Tea that are great for fall: Pumpkin Chai and Nutty by Nature

DECLUTTERED MAKEUP

-ELF Glossy Gloss 🙂 I really like these as it gives a plushy feel on the lips and is quite pigmented. I reviewed them here. But as I’ve had it for 3+ years, it’s starting to smell funny so decluttering.

-Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain :/ I barely used this but it’s a pretty nude color. It’s now lumpy so it’s got to go. 2 years old.

-Rimmel Moisture Renewal Lipstick :/ These used to be my favorite lipsticks from the drugstore. But now drugstore formulation is a lot better and I think these are average. I think this is 4+ years old!

-NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil :/ This was quite nice and a bright blue. However it dried out and broke, only about 1 year.

-Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner :/ I wanted a nude liner for my inner rim but this didn’t last long before it broke. Also I found the color not that flattering.

-Diorshow Mascara 🙂 I found this in my mom’s purse and made sure she no longer put this on her eyes. It’s at least 3+ years old!!! I remember this to be a good mascara though

-NYC Big Bold Volume Mascara 🙁 This is my second one that I’ve received. It’s a rubber bristle which I don’t like and I don’t see big volume.

-Saje Sun Sense :/ A light sunscreen with SPF15. It’s a nice natural scent but I find it has a bit of a white cast and at SPF15 there really shouldn’t be. I’ve only had it for a year but since it’s natural ingredients I want to declutter this.

-Revlon Powder Blush 🙁 I won this in a prize 2 years ago and it has no color pay off.

-Liquid Palisade 🙁 This is suppose to be a paint you put around your nails to avoid nail polish getting on your skin. I couldn’t get this to work but it is now being sold at Sephora!

-Joe Fresh Universal Beauty Balm 🙁 The packaging broke during shipping so I wasn’t able to properly use it. But the product feels sticky and I wouldn’t really like this for moisturizing.

-Essence Eyeshadow Palettes 🙁 The candies had two broken pans and no color pay off. The nudes palette only has two shades with pay off (bottom two deep shades)

Good job for those who made it till the end! I’m going to empty out all these items in the garbage now which is probably the best feeling after the sound of acrylic makeup packaging hitting each other.
