Each year that goes by, I’m amazed at how far my blogging has taken me. Of course, I’m a tiny blog in the grand scheme of things but this has exceeded all my expectations when I started taking photos in my dorm room. Now that the year is almost over, I wanted to create some goals for next year and look back on 2016!
I almost achieved all of my goals in 2016 which included: 1000 followers on Instagram, 100K views on Blogpost, 700 followers on Bloglovin. The only one I’m missing on is 1000 followers on Twitter, and I’m about 8 people away! I know these are mostly followers based so I’d like to make some more broad goals for 2017.
#1- Read Bloglovin at least once a week
This year, I tried very hard to blog twice a week all year round! This means I usually spent all my spare time taking photos, editing photos, testing products and generally focusing on my own blog. I did a lot less reading of other people’s blogs and I feel like the interaction on my blog has greatly decreased. I’d like to spend at least 3 hours a week on Bloglovin reading posts from my favorite bloggers!
#2- Expand my blogging horizons
I’m so grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many different beauty brands this year and I can’t wait to discover more. However, a girl can only have so much makeup before it starts getting excessive. I’d love to feature more travel posts on the blog and I hope you guys will enjoy them. Also, I’d love to feature more accessories (jewelry, bags, shoes etc.). I’m not super on the fashion trend but I do love nice accessories.
#3- Organize my blog
I need to learn how to make a drop down menu bar! I swear it never works when I read tutorials. One of my goals is to make cute pictures to separate out the different types of posts I have on my blog. This will make it easier for people to read the topics they are interested in.
#4- Promote each post 3 times
This is something I always forget to do! I create a blog post and then I forget to share it on Twitter. I would love ideas though on where else you guys share your blog posts. Is Facebook an effective place to share links?
#5- Reach 3000 followers on Instagram
This was a great year for me on Instagram, I can’t believe I’ve exceeded my goal by over 600 followers. I’ve really started getting in the groove of finding photos to post on Instagram on top of my blog posts. Although I don’t want to focus on numbers, I do want to expand my Instagram following as there are lots of opportunities on that platform. Although trying to gain 120 new followers each month will be a huge challenge but I’ll set this ambitious goal!
