Shopping at Beauty Sense: New Destination for Canadian Beauty Lovers

July 22, 2018

There is no better time to support Canadian business than now! (sorry to my American readers) I was recently introduced toΒ Beauty Sense, an online shopping destination for beauty and skincare lovers based in Montreal, Canada! Although it’s completely new to me, they’ve actually been running since 2013.

About Beauty Sense

The founders of Beautysense came from a Spa and salon background and this is apparent in the brands they offer. The product selection is generally more “clinical” and less “trendy” but this makes me very hopeful that it’ll be extremely effective. The products also seem to focus on anti-aging, suncare, and intensive serums. However, there are many well known brands on the site as well. Just to list off a few: BeautyBlender, Bioderma, Caudalie, Clarisonic, Dermalogica, Nuxe, Shu Uemura, Stila, and Verb! But what I really like is that there’s so many new brands for me to discover! I’ll show you a few new items that I hope to test out soon.

Esthederm

The Esthederm Sun Bronz Dry Oil Care ($69) is suppose to help optimize natural tanning and beautifies the skin’s appearance in the sun. This sounds super intriguing and although I don’t normally use this type of product, I’d love to give it a shot this summer. The founder of this brand is actually the same founder as Bioderma! The beginning of this brand was based on optimised tanning and skin protection and naturally has a lot of suncare products. There are a few skincare products available as well.

Jane Iredale

We’ve all see the craze with makeup removing towels recently, and this is a makeup remover mitt! The Jane Iredale Magic Mitt ($19.50) will remove makeup with no cleanser required. It’s similar to a lot of other towels in the sense that it’s a micro-fiber cloth and uses water only. I am terrible about cleaning stuff like this so it usually doesn’t last as long as it should. But if you are more environmentally friendly and don’t want to use disposal wipes, this would be a fantastic choice!

LASPA

LASPA products are made from 100% natural sources. This natural mineral sunscreen has 20% zinc oxide mixed with lots of moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil, beeswax, vitamin E, and avocado oil. It can be water resistant for 80 minutes. If you are concerned about the chemical based sunscreens that you’re using, check out LASPA Moisturizing Mineral Sunscreen ($40) from Beauty Sense. The brand focuses on sun care so you can be sure they know what they’re doing!

Laboratoire Dr Renaud

I have not started focusing on anti-aging products yet but now that I’m 26, I should really start! The Laboratoire Dr Renaud Pure Overnight Youth Concentrate ($90) has a bold claim of a revolutionary cosmetic alternative to surgical techniques! I have never seen this brand before and feel it’s a very salon oriented brand. This wouldn’t be the type of product I’d traditionally gravitate towards but it is a plus that all products are manufactured in Canada.

Pro-Derm

For another more spa sounding brand, Pro-Derm Gentle Cleanser ($35) is suitable for cleaning the face and removing makeup. It comes in a huge 250mL bottle and the price is actually quite affordable. This cleanser maintains a pH of 4.5 so it does not irritate the skin. It also contains 40% aloe extract and we all know how soothing aloe is! Surprisingly it contains glycolic acid which I wouldn’t associate with a “gentle” cleanser. Glycolic acid is a wonderful ingredient though as it chemically gets rid of dead cells and flaky skin.

Vivier

Lastly, I have the Vivier C E Peptides Serum at a whopping $174.50. I think this is more than I would be willing to pay for skincare at this point but if you want serious results, this has pharmaceutical grade Vitamin C. This anti-aging serum aims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles as well as inflammation and damage. I actually adore the packaging of this brand. The box also comes with a dropper that you can replace instead of the cap. You only need 2-3 drops each time so 30mL will last a long time.

I’m really glad I discovered Beauty Sense as it introduced me to more Canadian manufactured beauty brands! It’s also a great place to stock up on some of my favorite brands like Bioderma and Beauty Blender. You can enjoyΒ free shipping on $29 or more. On top of that, you also collection loyalty points worth 5% of your order.
