Too Faced Under the Christmas Tree Gift Set

November 8, 2018

The countdown to Christmas is on! I have so many gift set reviews lined up for the blog so I hope you keep coming back as you make your wishlist. Too Faced is one of my favorite brands and their eyeshadow palettes are unbeatable! They always release amazing gift sets for the holiday season that’s cute and a great value. Today I have the Too Faced Under the Christmas Tree Breakaway Face & Eye Set.

The gift set is made up of 3 palettes that combine to create a Christmas Tree! You also get a sample size of the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara. The packaging is actually a soft velvet which is so perfect for the holidays but I think it’s going to get dirty fast.

Smallest Palette – Face

At the top of the Christmas tree is this face palette with a bronzer, blush and highlighter. The bronzer “Winter Glow” is matte but slightly orange. It’s slightly better for warming up the face than contouring. My favorite blush colors are more orange based so I love the shimmery coral pink of Christmas Flush. Lastly, for the highlighter, “Angel Kiss” it is a warm gold. Icy highlighters don’t look that good on me so I love it when it has more of a golden glow or a rose gold glow.

The color payoff is a bit more sheer than other Too Faced products. The formula also feels a bit thinner. It’s hard to describe but it feels less binded together. The wear time is largely affect by the foundation you wear underneath. When I wear just a primer and concealer, the products fade very fast. However, if I have a more dewy liquid foundation underneath, these colors stay on my cheeks for a large portion of the day.

Middle Palette- Warm Eyeshadows

There are 2 eyeshadow palettes in this gift set and the middle one contains 8 trendy warm eyeshadow shades. I find browns and golds very wearable. This palette will be a fantastic every day palette for those who prefer a more basic look. The matte transition color is Christmas Wish. If you have lighter skin tones, it would be the perfect shade to start off every look. I also love Christmas morning for a really true dusty pink shade. The shimmers are beautiful and my favorites are Dream it, Believe it, and Cozy Up to Christmas. These two shades have a metallic finish and really pop on the eyes. Lastly, I was really surprised by Wishful Thinking. In the pan, it looked like a boring deep brown. But there are gold shimmers in it that actually comes through when swatched and applied on the eyes.

Look how beautifully these swatched! The shades are not extremely pigmented but it definitely has enough pigmentation that the shades do not muddy together on the lids. It wears nicely throughout the day with a primer underneath. I love the shade selection in this palette! Warm shades are very trendy and it’s a no brainer to create a great combo!

Largest Palette- Eyeshadow

The base of the Christmas tree is this 10 pan palette with a few neutrals and a few fun holiday shades! Immediately, the silver and the green shades caught my attention and they would be so perfect for a holiday party. The three more shimmery shades are probably best applied with your finger tips or with a spritz of setting spray. Although there’s no loose glitters, there is not enough binding to get a good color pay off if you use a fluffy brush. These fun shades are complimented with some nice neutrals like Pleasant Dreams and Dream Come True. My only complaint about this palette is that I don’t think it’s necessary to have two shades that light as I’ll probably not use either.

Too Faced Under the Christmas Tree Breakaway Face & Eye Set

Overall this gift set is fantastic value at $52 and contains 18 eyeshadows, 3 face products and a deluxe sample size mascara. The packaging of this is adorable too! From the velvet exterior to the cardboard box, it’s made ready for gifting, you don’t even need to wrap it! If you already have a lot of Too Faced products, I would say you don’t need to add this to your collection. But for someone who wants to try out new eyeshadow shades at a good value or need a nice beauty gift, this is a fantastic choice!

Inspired by the changing fall colors of the Japanese maple, this beautiful kissu lip mask now has a berry red tint. I love the moisturizing squalane and Japanese peach extracts. My dry lips have never felt so hydrated and soft. Definitely give this a try if you're looking for a smooth and plump lip with a hint of color.

🍮 The packaging is also stunning with the maple motifs on the lid that makes this display worthy in any bathroom or vanity!

Here are my top three face creams for the changing weather especially if you have dry skin!

Clarins Extra Firming: I love the day and night version of this cream. The night is even more heavy duty and creamy so sometimes I use the day version only 💫

It's got a beautiful scent and amazing collagen technology to plump the skin!

Aestura Atobarrier Lotion: this is a newer korean brand thats available now at Sephora. Part of the amorepacific family, so you know it'll be good!

The packaging is very simple and unassuming but I love how this soothes the skin! Its quite lightweight in texture but I used this when I was sick and it saved my nose after blowing into tissue a gazillion times a day! 🩵

Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier: im always a big fan of drunk elephant. This one is my favorite face cream from the brand. I love the pump packaging and this is perfect if you want hydration and barrier support!
