I love getting dressed up in the holiday season! But sometimes I’m pressed for time. I find that a bold red lip really makes the look feel glam without a lot of effort. So I’ll be showing you 5 beautiful red lipsticks for holiday parties this Christmas season!
Clarins Joli Rouge
Earlier this year, I shared my review on the Clarins Joli Rouge lipsticks. For each shade, there are 3 finishes. Shade 742 is a beautiful blue based red and my favorite was the velvet matte finish. It gives extremely opaque color but is not so drying and flat on the lips. There’s definitely a lot of grip to it which makes it have better staying power.
Maybelline x Gigi Hadid
If you like a more orange based red, I have a great pick from the drugstore! I was so impressed by all the lipstick formulas of the Maybelline x Gigi Hadid collab. But the shade I picked is Khair and would be so beautiful if you got a tan! The formula is really unique because it feels thin but is so packed with pigment. If you want a more true red shade, try the shade Lani.
Kiss Matte Liquid Lipstick
For a true bold red lip, the Kiss Celeste Matte Liquid Lipstick in Candy Apple should be your pick! I have not been a fan of liquid lipsticks and I’m glad glossy lips are back in. However, there’s lots of liquid lipstick fans out there so I thought I’d include my favorite in this list. It is such a bright color but it’s one of the only liquid lipsticks that doesn’t look flat and cakey on my lips. If you wear this, you’ll definitely want to keep the eye makeup simple as this packs a punch!
Charlotte Tilbury KISSING Lipstick
For a deeper more sultry look, the Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn is the most gorgeous color. As part of the Charlotte Tilbury KISSING lipsticks, this one has a glossy finish. But the pigmentation packs a punch! You’ll get a full lip coverage of a gorgeous deep brick red color while it feels comfortable on the lips!
Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lip Colour
Lastly, if you are a bit tentative about wearing a red lip, here is a glossy medium pigmentation option. This is the Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lip Colour in 325 Rouge Kiss. The packaging is in a geometric black tube with Guerlain in cursive on one end. This shade is a mid tone red with an orange base. If you want this to stay all night, make sure to use a lip liner underneath. But since it’s a less pigmented product, it’s easier to reapply on the go!
