Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish Review & Swatches

September 5, 2019

After years of complaining about the matte lip trend (I never figured out how to hide my lip lines), GLOSSY LIPS ARE BACK! Brands are pushing out shiny lip products left and right and I’m so excited to see all the new releases. From the drugstore, Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish has the 12 fun shades and promises insanely shiny lips. Today I have the review and swatches of 7 of the shades!

Basics

Name: Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish
Shades: 12 Shades in Total
Price: $9.99
Size: 6mL
Available at your local drugstore

Formula

The first thing that sets these products apart is how shiny the finish is. When I swatched these on my arms, I could immediately see how reflective it was when it catches the light. The formula applies very smoothly on the lips and creates an even canvas. Lip lines are gone from the picture.

I find these stickier than some other lip glosses (like these YSL Volupte Lip Balm or Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl). It’s not uncomfortable to wear but if it’s windy, your hair will stick for sure! I’ve worn several shades continuously for a few days and I find the formula to be hydrating. There’s no chapped lips although you do need to reapply every few hours.

Swatches

910 Cherry on Top

Bright red. This is such a gorgeous statement making lip color! It’s true red and has a nice creamy consistency.

915 So Shady

Deep burgundy. This is the only shade that goes on not fully opaque. But all for the best as it’s such a bold shade that the sheerness makes it more wearable.

920 Power Lip

Bright coral in the tube but shows as more pink on the lips. A bit of my natural lip color still shows through after applying one coat. It’s a gorgeous feel good color and I’ll be saving this for next summer.

925 Birthday Suit

Cool toned neutral lip. I still found it slightly too light for my liking. But this should be a good neutral lip for lots of ladies.

935 Berry Blissed

Bright fuschia. I had a phase where fuschia was my go to lipstick color. I still remember my first MAC lipstick – Style Curve. This shade was especially creamy and shiny.

950 Act Naturel

Light peach toned neutral shade. I don’t look good in light shades at all and I thought this was okay! It’s not something I would gravitate towards but it’s one of the more flattering light lip colors I have.

960 Date night

This one is my favorite shade! My lips are more pigmented so a darker shade is the perfect “my lips but better” shade for me. It’s very similar to birthday suit but a touch darker and with more purple.

LIPGLOSS RATINGS

Color 9/10
Shine 5/5
Scent 4/5
Packaging 3/5
Value 4/5

Overall 25/30 A-

The colors were all surprisingly flattering when worn! Of course, the shine is unreal and I love the combination of full color pigment and shiny lips. I kind of wish Revlon came out with a new packaging for these products as it looks exactly like their Ultra HD matte lip products. I would recommend 960 Date Night for a wearable color for fall!

Inspired by the changing fall colors of the Japanese maple, this beautiful kissu lip mask now has a berry red tint. I love the moisturizing squalane and Japanese peach extracts. My dry lips have never felt so hydrated and soft. Definitely give this a try if you're looking for a smooth and plump lip with a hint of color.

🍮 The packaging is also stunning with the maple motifs on the lid that makes this display worthy in any bathroom or vanity!

Here are my top three face creams for the changing weather especially if you have dry skin!

Swatched from left to right: clarins, drunk elephant, aestura

Clarins Extra Firming: I love the day and night version of this cream. The night is even more heavy duty and creamy so sometimes I use the day version only 💫

It's got a beautiful scent and amazing collagen technology to plump the skin!

Aestura Atobarrier Lotion: this is a newer korean brand thats available now at Sephora. Part of the amorepacific family, so you know it'll be good!

The packaging is very simple and unassuming but I love how this soothes the skin! Its quite lightweight in texture but I used this when I was sick and it saved my nose after blowing into tissue a gazillion times a day! 🩵

Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier: im always a big fan of drunk elephant. This one is my favorite face cream from the brand. I love the pump packaging and this is perfect if you want hydration and barrier support!
