Can you believe it is the end of a decade?! I kept up posting twice a week for the past 4 years, which is a big accomplishment on its own. That streak got broken for the first time in the last 2 months but I’m here today though to celebrate my top 10 accomplishments of 2019 on Raincouver Beauty!
These are some of the best opportunities that’s come up for me on the blog and on Instagram this year!
10. Getting my hair colored for the first time at Sukis

I have dark black hair that refuses to be lightened by box dye! I was really excited to score a collaboration with Sukis to get my hair colored. The color turned out amazing (although it wasn’t what I wanted going in). It’s been about 8 months now and the color is still going on strong!
9. Getting my eyelash extensions for the first time

I’m also super late to the eyelash extension game. I test so many mascaras and eyeliners regularly that I didn’t want extensions. But I was going on lots of trips this year (Greece & Vietnam) and eyelash extensions are so helpful for traveling! I’m obsessed with how they look and have quickly gone from classic to hybrid to volume!
I collaborated with: Prep Beauty Parlourand @yvrbabylashes
8. Horseback Riding Tour in Greece

Speaking of Greece, I was ecstatic to work with Santo Horse Riding to share a fun excursion to do in Santorini – horseback riding. I’ve gone horseback riding in a few different cities and always enjoy being in close company with the animal and walking along beautiful scenery. The sunset at the beach in Santorini though was probably the most magical place to ride a horse!
7. Ha Long Bay Tour in Vietnam

Another really exciting travel opportunity I had this year was working with Indochina Junk on their Ha Long Bay cruise. I received a media discount as the cruise is on the luxury side of things. I’m so proud that my platform can have a reach for travelers around the world!
6. Apothic Red – Instagram Campaign
I am a big lover of wine and have actually taken a course on it in university! I was beyond excited when Apothic Red had a paid campaign for my Instagram. I’ve tried their wines before and it’s super smooth and easy drinking!
5. Working with Vancouver coffee companies

I was really into drinking fresh coffee made from a Chemex. So I reached out to several of my favorite Vancouver coffee companies to create this post on the Best Vancouver Coffee Roasters. If you’ve only had drip coffee from Tim Hortons, McDonalds, or Starbucks, I’d highly recommend giving drip coffee from specialty shops a try! I love the complex flavors.
4. Murale Fab and Free campaign

I always talk about Murale’s Fab and Free events. These usually happen twice a year and if you make a purchase of ~$125 or more, you get this huge bag of samples! The Spring 2019 Murale Fab and Free event included over $300 worth of samples! I was lucky to have worked on a paid campaign with the brand to promote the event.
3. Kater – Instagram Campaign
Something I’ve been so passionate about is bringing ride-sharing to Vancouver! It is finally going to be here (fingers-crossed). Before before the acts were passed, Kater is an app based in Vancouver that had an Uber like interface that was allowed to operate before ride-sharing was approved! It was such a life saver living in downtown and I was so excited to share this service with my followers.
2. Attending the Vancouver International Wine Festival

This is actually my second time attending the Vancouver International Wine Festival but the first time I wrote about it. It is an iconic event and a must attend for any wine lover! I probably sampled between 20-30 wines but there are easily over 100 wineries present! I also love that you can purchase bottles on site and a lot of these are not normally available at BC liquor stores. Tickets always sell out so definitely get yours for 2020!
1. Media Trip to Walla Walla

And finally, my top accomplishment of the year is the media trip to Walla Walla! This trip is the epitome of what I love about blogging. I was able to discover a new travel destination share all there is to offer with other adventurous souls. Walla Walla is located in Eastern Washington and you’ll find some world class wines without the hefty price tag! I really suggest you make a trip next spring!
Makeup Posts?
I didn’t tag a beauty review in this post because they are my bread and butter! These are the bulk of my publication and while I definitely don’t take it for granted, it would be hard to narrow down my favorite collaborations this year. However, I’d love to shout out some brands have been so generous and supportive to me this year: Caudalie, Drunk Elephant, It Cosmetics, Laneige, and YSL.
