Clinique Pop Lip Colour Review

I was clearing out my bright lipstick collection recently and came across the Clinique Pop Lip Colour and realized that I haven’t tested it out yet. I really enjoy the Clinique Pop Blushes so I’m hoping the Clinique Pop lipsticks would be good too!

Packaging

Like other Clinique products, the packaging is quite simple. The silver cap pulls off and “CLINIQUE” is embossed on one side. The bottom of the lipstick corresponds with the actual lip colour. This would be super helpful if you had multiples of this product or even if you just had a large lipstick collection. One unique thing is that the size is about 30% smaller than a traditional lipstick. Handy for a small purse!

Formula

The Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Punch Pop is a vibrant pink. It leans towards the thinner consistency on the spectrum of lipsticks and glides quite easily across the lips. The finish is shiny but there’s no stickiness at all. The thinner consistency and the glide also means though that it sticks to my teeth easier. I always need to check after applying this lipstick as it somehow gets on my teeth. But once it “dries down” after a minute or two, the color does not transfer.

I’m so impressed by how pigmented this color is and how long is stays on. The shade is true to color when swatched and on the lips. I’ve eaten and drank with this on and it still stays noticeable even after a few hours.

I think the color is super flattering on my skin tone and goes well with a neutral eye look. I love the shiny finish and how pigmented it is. The only thing to watch out for is the initial application and making sure it’s not on my teeth. While the product is not mind blowing, it’s priced well for an established mid-range brand and performs without any faults.
