I have been adoring my Chloe C Clutch with Chain for the past year and I am so excited to share this blog post with you. A few years ago, I started my my one year use series where I share how a luxury item has held up after one year of wear. One of the most popular posts in that series has been the Gucci Marmont shoulder bag. So I’m following it up with another designer bag.

Chloe C Collection
Chloe C was introduced at the beginning of 2019 as the brand’s newest collection! The collection includes several shapes and sizes but the unifying theme is the large “C” hardware that is front and center of each bag. In the recent years there’s been a big trend of bold hardware logos and this collection plays up that trend.
What I adore about this collection is the variety of the color and texture selection! This year, faux-croc is very trendy and you can find it in Chloe C. There are a few beautiful colors available including an emerald green, pearl white, and a tawny orange in a fux-croc texture.

Chloe C Clutch with Chain
The model that I have here is called the Chloe C Clutch with Chain bag. It actually is no longer available on Chloe’s official website. But it is still being sold at several luxury retailers including being on sale at Farfetch and Jomashop.
The current designs available are a mini and a small shoulder bag in a square shape with both a top handle and a wide strap. I love how these look both sophisticated but also care-free. There is also an entry level option called a mini vanity bag which is in an oval shape with a chain strap like the one I have.
The Design

I find the Chloe C Clutch with Chain bag to be a very practical every day bag. There is a clasp underneath the “C” logo that opens up to the main compartment. Within it, there is a small slot for cards. On the backside there is another flat pocket that would be handy for any pieces of paper, receipt, or other ID.
The reason that this bag is called a clutch is because you can tuck the chain inside the main compartment and it becomes a clutch. I never use it this way as I prefer to wear it crossbody. But it is versatile if you need to dress it up for a special occasion.
Pricing

I am a deal seeker and try to get luxury goods on sale if I can. My favorite sales to watch for are the twice a year SSENSE sale (although they are getting worse every time). The Chloe C Clutch with chain retails for $1,450 CAD/$1,100 USD. I first bought this bag in a grey color from SSENSE for $1,248 CAD in May 2019. I thought it was a great deal but I was really torn as I didn’t love the color. Then two few weeks later, I found the same model in this caramel brown on Farfetch for $705 CAD which was a ridiculously good deal! I immediately checked out and was lucky that I didn’t use the grey one yet and was able to refund it. If you’re spending $1,000 on one item, make sure you LOVE it!
The current designs and pricing available on Chloe online:
- Chloe C Mini Vanity Bag: $990 USD
- Mini Chloe C Bag: $1490 USD
- Small Chloe C Bag: $1850 USD
I have seen the Chloe C bags go on sale at retailers and at Chloe online. So if you can wait it out, definitely check around May and November to see if there are deals.
What it Fits

I can fit all of my daily essentials in the Chloe C Clutch with Chain bag. However, it’s not as roomy as my Gucci Marmont bag for sure. The one thing that it doesn’t fit would be my glasses case or a sunglasses case. Pictured above is what I would normally put in my purse:
- Card holder (the Chloe ABC card holder)
- Cellphone (Samsung S9)
- Home keys
- Hand lotion
- Lipstick (Charlotte Tilbury is my favorite)
Final Thoughts
I have always loved the Chloe brand and the cool girl vibes that come along with it. Their handbag designs tend to be more trendy and might not last the test of time. However, if you wait for a sale, these are great quality, very fashionable, and pretty good value.
The stitching is even and beautiful. After one year of use, there has been no loose threads! I’m so happy with the color of the bag as it’s a rich brown that pair so well with any outfit. The leather is smooth and has held up really well. The only sign of wear is on the suede which is just on the bottom quarter of the flap. I’m loving the Chloe C design and it’s too bad that this specific model doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I think it’s better bang for your buck than their current designs so hopefully you’ll be able to snag one!
