I have been taking a lot of walks recently and I’m so happy that my Mackage Harlowe coat keeps me warm and cozy! This is a hefty investment but has honestly changed my life (I used to hate going outside during the winter)! I’ve had the Mackage Harlowe coat for over a year now and I want to share my thoughts and some photos today!

About Mackage
Mackage is a Canadian company founded in 1999 that specializes in quality outerwear. Their mission is to elevate outerwear and blend fashion and function. Most of their pieces uses down, leather, or wool to create warmth and style. They’ve also expanded now to handbags and I actually quite like those designs too!
Their most recognizable design with is the Kay coat which features the signature fur collar which wraps around to the front!

Mackage Harlowe Down Coat with Removable Fur

The style I have is the Mackage Harlowe which is a mid length down coat with a removeable fur on the hood. You can find this coat in black or navy and the sizes go from XXS to L. The retail price is $1,050 although several sites are offering it for sale right now! Check out these deals below. The inside is 90% down and 10% feather so it really keeps things cozy!
How Warm is the Mackage Harlowe Down Coat

Vancouver is not really known for cold weather but I used to always feel cold in the winter time! Maybe it’s the humidity and damp air, but 5 degrees here is pretty cold here! The Mackage Harlowe coat keeps me feeling warm all the time and the coldest I’ve worn it is about -10 degrees. I’ll usually just wear a thin sweater underneath and it’ll be very comfortable temperature wise for me to be outdoors.
I also took it snowshoeing recently and didn’t feel cold at all. As you can see, it was also lightly raining/snowing and the fabric is water repellent. I really like this coat as I feel like I never overheat.
Style
One thing I really wanted in a winter parka is for it to fit close to the body. It’s really easy to look like a Michelin man with a winter parka but this coat slightly cinches in at the waist. The back detailing with the belt also helps to accentuate the waist and create a little curve back to the body.

The second thing I really like about the Mackage Harlowe parka is the two layer zip. Usually I like to zip up both portions. But if it’s not as cold, I leave the outer layer unzipped but still have wind protection from the inside zip.

Material
Let’s get technical for a little bit and talk about the material! While the price seems crazy high, coats with real down fill are always around this price. The outer fabric is a blend of cotton and nylon and is water-resistant & water-repellent. I can attest to this as I’ve walked outside in light rain for about an hour and did not feel wet!

The inside is 90% duck down and 10% feather while the removeable fur on the hood is raccoon fur. I’m really impressed by how the fabric looks and friends have often complimented the jacket on the quality.
I never thought I needed a down parka since it rarely gets below zero in Vancouver. However, having this coat completely changed how I view being outside in the winter time. I enjoy walks outside way more as I know I’ll be cozy and warm in my Mackage Harlowe parka! I highly recommend this as an investment that will make every winter a bit better.
