I kid you not but I’ve had this blog idea in mind for over a year! One of my favorite ingredients in skincare is Vitamin C! Proven to improve hyperpigmentation and dark spots, it’s widely used for brightening skin products. Here’s a round up of some best vitamin C skincare products for you to try!
On a side note, most of these products are serums. Although there are skincare of all kinds containing vitamin C, I find a serum is the most effective way to reap the benefits of this ingredient. A cleanser washes away too fast and a moisturizer needs to be hydrating. But a serum, the whole purpose is to sink deep into your skin and that’s the best way to deliver vitamin C!
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum

I tried Ole Henriksen for the first time when I received the Happy Juice Brightening Skincare Set. This serum is intensive containing 15% vitamin C, 5% PHAs, and hyaluronic acid. I felt my skin looked more even just after a few days. I’ve been getting scarring from every pimple, so Vitamin C really helps to reduce those dark spots.
The hyaluronic acid plumps the skin and PHAs help even skin texture. It’s a triple whammy! The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum has a juicy citrus scent that is so refreshing and a gel like texture. If you’re looking to combine Vitamin C with anti-aging benefits, this is a great skincare product to try.

Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules

It is really important for Vitamin C to be protected from air as it easily oxidizes and these individual capsules are the best way to achieve a longer shelf life. Each capsule is meant to be a single use but I feel I can get at least 3 uses out of it! The Vitamin C is combined with ceramides which protects skin from moisture loss to achieve bright skin and fight aging.
I’d recommend the Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules for use during winter time or those with dry skin as it’s an oily texture. Although it absorbs well, it does stay oily for a bit and could be a bit rich during the summer time. The oil in our skin is attracted to the oil-soluble Vitamin C so this technology optimizes the delivery of Vitamin C to skin’s surface where it’s needed.

Pixi Vitamin-C Tonic

For a more affordable option, pixi has a whole Vitamin-C collection including their famous tonics. Grapefruit water and other citrus extracts gives the pixi vitamin-c tonic a pick me up scent. Although the glow tonic is their best selling toner, this version has worked really well for me too! The pixi vitamin-c tonic also contains exfoliating ingredients like willow bark and fruit extracts, aloe vera extract to hydrate, and probiotics to fortify skin’s natural barrier.
Use this toner after cleansing to achieve a more even skin tone. As you can see from this photo, mine has oxidized quite a bit. I’m not sure if it’ll be effective now so make sure you use this up once you open it. There’s not a lot of vitamin C toners on the market so this is a good one to try!
Boscia Vitamin C with Caviar Lime Booster Serum

I just tried out the Boscia Vitamin C Serum this year and quite enjoyed the texture and results. The twist up pump along with opaque packaging helps to protect the vitamin C from oxidizing. At 10% Vitamin C, this serum is up there on the effectiveness list. In addition, this serum contains AHA rich Caviar Limes to help exfoliate and smooth skin texture. The ingredient list is very impressive with lots of fruit extracts at the top of the list.
The serum feels like water and absorbs super quickly into the skin. There’s no visible scent to the product.

Neostrata Vitamin C Concentrate

Neostrata is a brand that’s new to me but I know that they are known for very effective products. I keep talking about how important it is for Vitamin C to be protected to prevent oxidizing and these are also packaged individually. The texture coming out of the capsule looks a bit like crumbly honey but it applies very smoothly across the skin. This will be very effective too as it contains 10% Vitamin C.
Available at London Drugs and Shoppers Drug Mart
If you’re looking to add Vitamin C to your skincare, I highly recommend it! Who doesn’t want more even skin. I haven’t had any skin irritation issues with this ingredient from any brand. Hope you enjoyed my picks and let me know your favorite Vitamin C skincare product!
