It’s officially fall and I need to share an iconic piece of designer accessory – the Burberry Classic Check Cashmere Scarf! I have a series of one year reviews of my designer items but I’ve actually had this scarf for about 4 years now! It polishes off every outfit and read on to see if the Burberry cashmere scarf is worth the price.
About Burberry

Burberry is a fashion house based in London since 1856. They are known for their trenchcoats, scarves and the iconic check pattern. The designs are usually on the preppy side featuring clean classic looks. Their women’s bag is undergoing a rebranding with new logos that now say “TB”. However, the Burberry scarf has remained constant for a long time!
Burberry Classic Check Cashmere Scarf Pricing

As of October 2022, the Burberry Classic Check Cashmere Scarf retails for $670 CAD. You can also add personalization of 3 letters for free. For anyone thinking of resale though, personalization will greatly lower the value of your item. I believe when I bought it, it was around $500 CAD. So compared to other price increases, the 2022 price is rather reasonable.
Burberry Cashmere Scarf Color and Sizing

I knew this scarf came in different colors but I didn’t realize it came in over 20 different color combinations! If you already have a lot of designer items, choosing one of the lesser well known colors would be a fashion statement. However, if this is going to be your first piece of designer accessory, definitely go for the original color which is called Archive Beige.
You may be thinking that $700 is ridiculous to spend for a scarf! However, if you are comparing to a designer purse, which is now typically over $2,000, this is a great investment to get started.
What to Wear with Burberry Classic Check Cashmere Scarf

The thing I love most about this scarf is how well it goes with so many colors! I find it pairs best with white, black, and camel. Luckily, those colors are like 75% of my fall/winter colors. It pairs especially well with a camel peacoat, or my black casual jacket.
I usually like to wear the scarf hanging straight down the neck. But if it’s very cold, I’ll wrap it around my neck like an infinity scarf. I think it looks more elegant when it is drapped straight down inside a coat.

Quality

I’m super impressed by the quality of the Burberry scarf so far. I usually wear it about once a week for half the year and it’s been 5 years now! I haven’t noticed any pilling issues. For storage, I’ll usually fold it flat and put into a drawer to keep it away from dust.
The Burberry scarf has been in style for so long and it’ll be a piece that stays fashionable for a long time so you can buy without worrying it’ll go out of style!
