I am a sucker for limited edition makeup packaging and the Guerlain Terracotta in Starlight is absolutely breathtaking! The Terracotta bronzer is a best seller from Guerlain and there are many variations of this product.

Guerlain Terracotta Starlight Packaging
This bronzer is in a round brown compact with a domed top that’s etched with “terracotta” and “guerlain”. When you open it up, you’ll see a lightly shimmering bronzer with rows of gold stars covering the surface. Unfortunately the gold is only a top layer and the stars will loose the gold coloring after just a few uses.
The details are quite intricate, as some of the stars are raised and some are dipped. The hinge is really smooth and adds to the luxurious feel. Another sensory component is the scent. It’s hard to pinpoint but it’s a bit floral and reminds me of old school makeup, in a good way!
Guerlain Terracotta Starlight Formula
The holiday collection for 2022 only includes one shade which is their best selling shade 03 Medium Warm. However, the original shade is matte but this limited edition bronzer is shimmering. .
If you’re not familiar with Guerlain’s Terracotta products, it’s been a staple for the brand since 1984! This bronzer is inspired by a trip to the heart of the desert, and I can definitely use the warmth and reflection of the sun during the Canadian winter!
The aim is to have a natural healthy glow that appears seamless with the skin. During the winter, my skin gets dry and this bronzer is infused with Moroccan argan oil which ensures the product does not dry out the skin. I am a bit skeptical of skincare benefits from makeup as so little product is put on the skin. But it definitely doesn’t hurt to have more moisture however little it is.
This shade is a nice match for my skin tone and adds a beautiful dimension as well as a sun kissed glow.
Swatches and Try On
The formula is quite pigmented and it shows up easily on my skin. I apply it using the Guerlain kabuki brush but you can use any large blush or bronzer brushes you have. I love that the shimmer is delicate and dances depending on how the light hits your face.
To finish off the look, I used the Guerlain Rouge G in N.777 Berry Alchemy which is also a Holiday 2023 limited edition item.
