Lash extensions make such a huge difference in how I look and I love having them on! But, I don’t get lash extensions year round as it makes my lashes shorter and less curled (even though lash technicians all deny this!) Luckily during this downtime, I get to test out new mascaras like the Lancome Idole Flutter Extension Mascara. This mascara claims to give you the lash extension look so let’s see how well it works!

Packaging
Most mascaras comes in a very standard tube. Interestingly, this tube is quite different with a much skinnier packaging. The wand actually reminds me of mascaras that were made specifically for the lower lashes because of how skinny it is. The bristles are natural bristles and are quite short to match the skinnier wand. I really like the rose gold color on the outside which is part of the Idole collection.
Formula
I’m really impressed by the formula of this mascara. It’s a very black finish so I find it makes my eyes pop a lot. The formula is also on the creamy side so there’s no crunchiness or dryness on my lashes. I find it really easy with the Lancome Idole Flutter Extension mascara to create very long lashes even with one coat. You can see below how long my lashes look.

Things to watch out for is that it’ll smudge easier because it’s so creamy. You’ll want to make sure your undereye is nice and dry before before applying this mascara.
Comparison to Lancome Idole Mascara
Another similarly named mascara is the Lancome Idole Mascara. This mascara features a rubber bristle with a slightly curved wand. But the wand and the tube are a standard mascara size. I like the Flutter Extension more mostly because I find these bristles prickly when applying. The final look is more separated lashes but slightly less dark and long.

Out of all of Lancome’s mascaras, the new Idole Flutter Extension is my favorite! It creates the longest lashes, darkest color, and I love the skinny wand is easier to maneuver for my eyes.
