Best to Worst Drunk Elephant Products

February 17, 2023

Both of my existing “best to worst” blog posts are super popular (It Cosmetics and Laneige) so I wanted to make another one with one of my favorite skincare brands. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out quite a few products from the brand and today I’ll be sharing the best to worst Drunk Elephant products that I’ve tried!

#1 T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

Let’s start off the post with my all time favorite Drunk Elephant product! If you’re looking to smooth out your skin with a potent treatment, the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum is your pick! This serum works wonders for me and gets rid of stubborn bumps on my face. The secret ingredient is AHA/BHA acid which peels away dead skin through chemical exfoliation.

#2 F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial

This is an amazing product to use during the winter time as it deeply quenches my skin. My face was looking dry and irritated until I switched to the Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial recently. This is an amazing product to use during the winter time as it deeply quenches my skin. The formula is quite light but it provides a lot of hydration so that when I wake up, my skin still feels plump. This one of my favorite Drunk Elephant products!

#3 Protini Powerpeptide Resurf Serum

Another serum from Drunk Elephant that I really enjoy is the Protini Powerpeptide Resurf Serum. This Drunk Elephant product aims to rebuild your skin barrier and strengthen your skin. I find this works best when combined with the Protini Polypeptide moisturizer. This contains 10% lactic acid which is still potent enough to slough away dead skin cells.

#4 Silkamino Moisturizing Shampoo

After taking the skincare world by storm, Drunk Elephant started introducing other beauty products like hair care. I surprisingly really like the Drunk Elephant Silkamino Moisturizing Shampoo. Although it’s on the expensive side, the bottle looks so beautiful in my shower! I also love the texture which is more on the creamy side than a traditional shampoo. Worth splurging on!

#5 A-Gloei Maretinol Oil

This product is rather interesting as it combines marula oil with retinol and ceramides. My pores have been looking really large and I think this oil is dramatically improving the appearance. I did not put this at the top of the best Drunk Elephant products as I’m not a huge fan of facial oils. The texture still feels greasy to me but I really like the results.

#6 C-Firma Day Serum

Vitamin C is a really powerful ingredient to use for skincare as it helps to improve uneven skintone. The old C-Firma would not have made it to the top of the list as it oxidized rather quickly. However, Drunk Elephant updated their packaging on the C-Firm Day Serum so the liquid and powder are kept separate until the user decides to activate it. I found this was able to lighten up my acne scars within the first few days of use. Make sure to read my top Vitamin C serum posts for more options!

#7 Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide

I’m clearly a sucker for Drunk Elephant serums as they all ranked pretty highly on my list. My favorite Drunk Elephant moisturizer is the Protini Polypeptide Cream. The texture is between a cream and gel and I like the pump dispenser on top. This cream mixed with the Resurf serum provides me with a really healthy looking canvas.

#8 Silkamino Mega Moisturizing Masker

I’ve also been enjoying the Drunk Elephant Mega-Moisturizer Masker which is what I use as a conditioner. It hydrates my hair but rinses out very cleanly. It’s everything you can ask for in a conditioner. It’s also one of the only Drunk Elephant products with a scent! They added vanilla fruit extract in this to provide a sweet scent.

#9 Silkamino Conditioning Leave In Milk

I have not used this product that many times but I have a decent first impression. It’s a lightweight cream that can be used to tame any flyaways and to smooth out the hair. It makes my hair look a lot more sleek especially after I style with curling iron.

#10 Lala Retro Whipped Cream

Coming up to things I’m just okay about. The Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream provides good moisture to the skin. However, I’m not the biggest fan of the finish which leaves more of a matte feel. If you have oily skin, you may like this. I love the plushy, hydrated feel that I’d get from the Protini Polypeptide cream instead.

#11 B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

This serum is one of the first products launched by Drunk Elephant. Although this serum is called a hydration serum, this serum only provides average hydration for me. The texture is lightweight and sinks in easily and provides an initial burst of hydration. However, overnight it’s not enough for me and I prefer the F-facial serum a lot more!

#12 Lippie Balm

I am a bit torn on the Drunk Elephant as it’s hard to recommend a $24 lip balm. However, with consistent application, my lips are looking so smooth even in the dead of winter. This product looks so cute on my work desk so I’m constantly reaching for it. But I went through this pretty fast and there’s definitely other lip balm products that can do the job too.

#13 C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream

This eye cream has such a luxurious texture. However, I find that it pills so I can’t really recommend it. It’s nice to use during the evening time as a thick eye cream. However, it’d be hard to use this and then apply makeup on top. Therefore, I’m putting the Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream pretty low on this list.

#14 Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

The Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is one of Drunk Elephant’s original products. I find this product a bit too greasy for my liking. The A Gloei also seems to provide more anti-aging benefits than the pure facial oil. However, I can see this being great for someone with sensitivities to other skincare products as it’s very pure.

#15 D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops

I never got the hang of using the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops. The idea of this is to mix a few drops with your skincare for a more tanned look. I just don’t have a use for it and I don’t like adding color to my palms. I’d rather use bronzer or a slightly darker foundation.

#16 Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser

This Drunk Elephant cleanser is a classic and in so many gift sets! Lots of people love it but I cannot get over the smell. To me, it smells like glue and it’s not very pleasant. However, smell aside the texture is great and is gentle on the skin. Unfortunately it is not one of my favorite Drunk Elephant products.

#17 Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense

Last on the list is the Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer sunscreen. I’ve tried out a lot of great sunscreens for the face (don’t miss my full guide), this unfortunately does not stack up. The cream leaves a white cast and is not that easy to blend. I commend Drunk Elephant for using 20% zinc oxide as physical sunscreen tends to be more difficult in formula. But this is not a product I’d reach for.

If you made it through this post, thank you!!! Drunk Elephant is one of my favorite skincare brands and a lot of the serums work really well for me. Hope this post helps you in finding the best Drunk Elephant products!

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
