After months of dry flaky skin, I finally have smooch ready lips thanks to Laneige Lip Glowy Balm. I’ve been a fan of Laneige for years now having tried their skincare, cushion foundation, and two toned lipsticks. Recently, they released the Lip Glowy Balm in 4 delicious scents.
Normally, I would not advise to spend $18 on a lip balm but the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm ticks all the boxes of a great lip product!

Packaging
Laneige is known to be a youthful brand and the packaging brings me back all the joys of school days. The Lip Glowy Balm comes in a plastic squeezy tube but the twist off cap gives it more of an elevated feel. The applicator controls the amount of product being squeezed out and the slanted tip provides precision in application. Each scent comes in a totally different color so you can have a fun mix of shades if you collect them all!
Formula
I have used my Burt’s Bees lip balm for years now and that $5 has gotten me very far. So what’s better about the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm? First, I am so impressed with the shine! This is what high shine lip gloss strive to be! But there is absolutely NO STICKINESS. So you can eat and drink all you want. Although there is barely any color, it instantly makes my lips look healthier. I have to say that all four gives off almost the same look on the lips so you should just pick the scent you like best! (unless you like to hoard makeup ^^)
Secondly, this formula is actually hydrating! How many tinted lip balms have you tried that doesn’t actually nourish your lips? (Sorry YSL, you are very pretty but you dried out my lips). After using this for just a few days consecutively, all my dry patches were gone!
Scent
What makes the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm stand out the most is the incredibly juicy, fresh fruit scent! The best way I can describe the scent is that these are the La Croix of lip balm. It’s not overpowering but you can definitely smell the fruit. I love that it smells very authentic and not at all artificial.
My favorite out of the four is the Peach scent. It reminds me of summer and biting into a ripe juicy peach! I also love the Grapefruit scent which reminds me of a sparkling citrus.
If you are born in the 90s, you have to go and sniff the Pear and tell me if it also smells super nostalgic to me! It reminds me of L’Oreal Kids Detangler spray! But it’s not my favorite on the lips.

Overall, I am in love with these but I took off 2 marks for color as the 4 shades essentially give the same look on the lips. I’d highly recommend the Peach flavor! These are so perfect to throw in your purse and touch up throughout the day. The high shine looks like you put in a lot of effort but in fact it was effortless.
